Standardized Testing & Portfolio Evaluation Disclaimer
Test results represent a snapshot of performance at a specific point in time under specific testing conditions. They are not intended to diagnose, label, predict long-term outcomes, or make conclusive statements about a student’s intelligence, potential, character, or overall academic ability.
Standardized test data should be interpreted cautiously and in context. Results may be influenced by a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) test familiarity, motivation, health, anxiety, educational background, and environmental conditions. For this reason, test scores are best understood as one data point among many, rather than a comprehensive or definitive measure of student ability.
Similarly, when reviewing portfolios or samples of student work, my evaluation reflects observed evidence within the materials provided and the timeframe represented. Portfolio reviews are descriptive rather than diagnostic in nature and are not intended to serve as broad generalizations about a student’s overall academic capacity or future performance.
I do not provide medical, psychological, or clinical diagnoses, nor do I make prescriptive educational determinations. Any instructional decisions, placement choices, or interpretations remain the responsibility of the parent.
